Why Use a Staffing Agency
Why Use A Staffing Company? To answer this, realize that a staffing agency’s main focus is recruiting. We're the jobs people. We match millions of people to jobs every day. We’re constantly recruiting, advertising, and speaking to candidates and building an extensive database of candidates to work with. We have the access to talent that companies do not have. If a client places an ad for a specific opening, you can only find candidates who see that particular ad and respond to that ad. Candidates come to staffing agencies and recruiters for four main reasons: 1. To keep their job search confidential We find a number of candidates that are currently employed and seeking a new opportunity. Thus, they’re looking to remain confidential in their job search and aren’t submitting their resumes directly to job postings. Our job is not only to assist them with their job search, but to coach them in this process. Some candidates are strictly looking for an increase in salary or benefits; others are unhappy with their management team; some want to change fields; there may be a lack of challenge or no room for advancement; and others just want to be informed about the current market to remain competitive. Whatever the case may be, our job is to first assist them in evaluating their current status and coach them through resolving any current employment issues. Once determined their current employer cannot meet the candidate’s needs, we step in to assist them in their job search. Many candidates turn to staffing agencies as a resource regarding the marketplace: who’s hiring, what are the opportunities available, what’s needed to improve their marketability, and what are companies paying. This marketplace information isn’t available to them if applying directly with a company. However, this information can be attained when working with a staffing agency that knows their industry. In addition, staffing agencies offer a wide range of employment-related services and solutions to candidates, including options to work a flexible schedule, to take temporary assignments, or opt for a long term placement. Temporary and contract work provides a bridge to permanent employment and allows candidates to try out a prospective employer and showcase their skills for a permanent job. Some staffing agencies also provide training, job coaching, and resume writing to their candidates which companies do not offer directly. Candidates also use staffing agencies as their agent. The staffing agency has the ability to sell a candidate’s skills and abilities directly to the hiring manager, which gives the candidate a better chance of a face-to-face interview. We see more often than not, clients overlooking qualified candidates based solely on the resume, but have considered the same candidate for placement or an interview, based on our presentation and in-depth knowledge of the candidate’s work history and experience. Candidates understand and appreciate this part of a staffing agency’s services and continue to use us in their search for the right job.
